Eccentric, uncommon and totally AWE-WORTHY!

by Feb 6, 2020

We love it all – the dress and sweet sentimental moments to fine dining and of course dancing the night away! You’ve given everything you’ve got into making your wedding one of the best events you have ever attended! Need a little help achieving this? LIUNA Events has you covered. This week we are looking at some uncommon, striking and unique themes and services that are sure to put your wedding in the top 3 list of 2020.

This theme – this image, can we just say #throwbackthursday! Flower power has this magical way of invoking child-like wonder and how perfect would your wedding be – can’t you just picture it now?! Weddingideasmag.com has us in total spring vibes with this 1960’s, chilled-out flower power themed wedding! To take it up a notch they also note, ‘hand out single stems of flowers for guests to wear in their hair and ask your wedding band to play everything from Hendrix to Joplin. Your bouquet could be bright and beautiful or a simple hand-tied arrangement of white daisies to complement your dress. The whole vibe should be laid back – that means no dress code, no seating plan and perhaps even no shoes!’ Sounds amazing right?! You’re welcome for this flower powered tip!

Not a flower child? What about following the yellow brick road? Yes! The Wizard of Oz is classic, whimsical and most of all nostalgic! If Dorothy and Toto don’t interest you, remember there are thousands of ideas to spark that imagination of yours in your favourite movies from Harry Potter to Twilight to fan favourite T.V shows such as The Game of Thrones or oddly enough The Walking Dead (did we mention Halloween falls on a Saturday this year)!

We are loving this elaborate and unconventional idea by Theknot.com to chauffer your guests from ceremony to reception! What better way to say thank you than by giving them an unforgettable adventure!

What about pre celebratory drinks? What better way to start the afternoon off than with a flavourful, light, fun drink (that’s totally on theme, of course) while waiting for the gorgeous bride to make her appearance? TheKnot.com says ‘give them a pleasant surprise by setting up a table of light beverages on the way into the ceremony. Just don’t serve anything too strong—try mimosas or fruit-infused iced teas they can sip before taking their seats (and don’t forget to have non-alcoholic versions too). Have your caterer or ushers collect any stray glasses to make sure the space is tidy before the processional begins.

And forget the traditional guest book and opt for a more playful and interactive way to have your guests sign loving wishes for the magical road that lies ahead! These puzzle pieces are so cute! But : Brides.com says to ‘ditch the guest note route completely; instead, encourage wedding attendees to cozy up for the camera and leave their marks with a Polaroid selfie. Set up a station just for the task, and prepare for an overload of hilarious selfies.

COVID-19 Update

We wish to provide all of our valued patrons and staff with an update in regards to how we are addressing the impact and concerns arising from the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic.  Based on the recommendations of Government Officials and in an effort to be proactive, we have made the decision to reduce our office hours from Monday to Friday 9am - 4pm, we will be closed Saturdays and Sundays. This can change as the situation evolves. We have taken this measure to protect our staff, our patrons and the public at large from the spread of COVID-19. We will continue to monitor and evaluate the situation on an ongoing basis and continue to provide updates to everyone.

We also wish to assure our patrons that you do not need to worry about your scheduled events and bookings during this period of closure. We look forward to rescheduling your event to a future date later this year. Please rest assured that we will work with you and transfer your date to a future one that works, without any financial penalty. We are putting our clients and staff first during this difficult time.
