Robert Kennedy Jr. at LIUNA Station for Mohawk Talks – May 24, 2013
On May 24, 2013, Robert Kennedy Jr. was the guest speaker for a noon hour Mohawk Talks luncheon on The Green Gold Rush at LIUNA Station.
Over 200 people attended, with a portion of the proceeds going to Mohawk College Foundation and Lake Ontario Waterkeeper, a charity dedicated to a swimmable, drinkable, fishable Lake Ontario.
This wasn’t Kennedy’s first visit to Hamilton; he was here over 10 years ago pushing for the Randle Reef cleanup. During interviews before the noon hour talk, Kennedy commented that he enjoyed coming to Hamilton, because there was the “sense of community” felt here. He further stated, “Hamilton is like Brooklyn to New York City. It’s a hip, cool place to be.”
Mohawk Talks with Robert Kennedy Jr. was presented by Hamilton-based McKeil Marine Ltd and we at LIUNA Station are so happy to have been a part of this great event!
